This got me thinking.  John talks about the role of the composer, but also alludes to the evolutioin of the orchestra.  To extrapolate a bit further, how are we in education evolving?  Are we simply staying in the early 20th century or are we moving forward and accepting the newer instruments (ie supplementing, adding to what we currently offer)?  If we do not look forward and prepare musicians for the 21st century, who will?  In what way are you evolving?
